This is where I'll be posting all the tasks given to me by my media teacher and will act as my portfolio for the subject.

PRELIM: Images And Model Consent Form
I chose this image because I've known her since I came to Norbury Manor and I believe, from what I've seen, she's a model student; she has high grades, she's very friendly and supportive. I don't know everything about her but I know I'd want her to be my model but I believe she's exemplary.
I chose this image because this is a college magazine and what better to have in the background than the college itself. I also chose this image because the focal point of the image are the doors; my eyes are instantly drawn to them, so this gives the illusion that the magazine is inviting you to read it.

PRELIM: Shot List - Which shot should I use?
COVER
A medium close up of a student, particularly a year 9 student, with a white background holding a question mark. The question mark represents the questions a red jumper would have about sixth form and years 10-11. A medium close up would focus on the model yet allow other items into the frame.A medium long shot of a teenage girl wearing gothic clothes with emo hair on a white background. The rebellious look would reflect upon the pull-quote "It's not a phase, mum." and would relate to most teenagers. A medium long shot allows focus on more items or clothing and gives more space for captions.
An over the shoulder shot of a girl wearing a backpack in front of a set of lockers. The lockers would relate to the caption: 'Should you use your lockers?'. An over the shoulder shot would allow emphasis on certain objects, like a backpack.
A long shot of a student sitting at his desk raising his arm in a classroom. Raising his arm indicates to the caption: 'How to behave in class', also the raised arm would be pointing towards the masthead.
CONTENTS
An over the shoulder shot of a student at the board with a complex calculation on it with the reference 'Nervous? They're human just like you. page 28'
An establishing shot of the bike rack with bikes parked in it with the reference 'Bike to school? Park it here. page 12'
An establishing shot of the tennis field with the reference 'Proper use of the tennis field Don't leave it in a mess. page 14'
An establishing shot of the sixth form building with the reference 'Rules of Sixth Form page 30'
An establishing shot of the field with the reference 'Bored at break? : come enjoy nature in the field. page 25'
PRELIM: Reader Profile - Who's this magazine for?
The typical reader of my magazine is female, aged between 13 and 18, and is going through secondary school and sixth form. She generally lives in an urban area; not too far from the school. She likes to all sorts of things, such as video games, shopping, gossip, etc. but most importantly she likes to keep her school work in check. The reason why she reads this magazine is because she has certain troubles that she could use advice on; which she can buy from the school, in the cafeteria at break and lunch each Wednesday. She has multiple problems, like sleep, waking up, organisation, exams, revision and so much more.

PRELIM: Preliminary Task - A college magazine
The preliminary task is quite simple really, in my opinion. The task given to us is to create a college magazine cover and contents page for NMBEC. I first thought of making it about children in general therefore broadening the target audience but then my teacher reminded me of a slight complication; I'd have to take a picture of a young person and get their parents permission. To remedy this problem I thought of my youngest sister in year 9 as she has no idea what to expect for sixth form and GCSE. I feel that using my sister for my task will be easy because she isn't too shy and I'm willing to bet she'd love some advice for the years ahead. I look forward to completing this task.
